Graduating Class of 2010 - "Rainy Night in Georgia"

Commencement exercises were held on May 28, 2010.
The first dozen of photos show the relative "calm before the storm."
The procession of seniors entering the stadium,
AFJROTC Color Guard,  Pledge of Allegiance, National Anthem,
and we were all ready to let the ""pomp and ceremony" begin.

The first few speeches were well underway...
when the sky decided to open up.
Georgia downpours are exactly that!
Buckets...
Cats and Dogs...
Call it what you want,
everything became drenched in a matter of seconds.

Umbrellas went up... for those who thought to come prepared.
For others... it was a Grand Exodus from the stands.

Those who remained in their seats hunkered down and waited it out.

Some seemed to even enjoy the sudden change in weather.

Although Princess umbrellas are not all that great for sharing...
Perkins+Will makes a very generous size.
Ali shares hers with this little girl and her Mom.

It rained for quite some time.

The graduates out in the field were getting soaked!

Graduation caps make terrible umbrellas,
and  paper programs... are you kidding me?
The poor graduates were defenseless to prevent the inevitable.
They were getting completely drenched!

Then, as quickly as it had begun, the rain was over.

T
The Graduation proceedings resume full speed ahead.
